Cadillac Asphalt LLC is proud to announce it has received ten National Asphalt Pavement
Association Quality in Construction Awards for excellence in asphalt pavement construction for projects completed in 2025. According to NAPA, the results of these projects delivered smooth, high‑quality asphalt roads, many of which incorporated reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) into the mixes—a sustainable paving practice that conserves resources, reduces emissions, minimizes landfill waste, and enhances pavement longevity.

The winning projects include:

13 Mile Road between Woodward Ave and Crooks Road in Royal Oak. The work along this busy road included asphalt milling and paving, partial curb and driveway replacements, restoration and pavement striping. The project mixes incorporated RAP.

Farmington Road in Livonia. The company placed an asphalt overlay on the one-mile stretch of road, which is part boulevard and part five-lane road with residential homes, city parks, churches and municipal buildings. Cadillac completed the work in less than two weeks, producing a smooth, high-quality asphalt pavement that is serving area motorists well.

Erie Road in Monroe County. Cadillac milled the butt joints and then placed a 1.75-inch asphalt overlay on the road. It used a screed plate system to knead the asphalt mix during paving, improving material flow and compaction.

Outer Drive from Burt to Evergreen in Detroit. Cadillac placed a 2-inch asphalt overlay on the road, which included a major intersection and multiple approaches and crossovers. The project incorporated RAP into the mixes.

Adams Road in Birmingham. The project included replacement of an existing watermain to improve service reliability. Following utility work, the roadway was rebuilt with a new aggregate base course in pipe crossing sections, new curb and gutter sections, cold milling of existing pavement, and installation of a new hot mix asphalt (HMA) and a wearing course overlay. The project mixes incorporated RAP.

Crooks Road in Troy. This project was part of the 2023 Preservation Overlay Program. Cadillac milled the road at the curb lines and butt joints, then placed a 1.5-inch hot mix asphalt (HMA) overlay on it. It was able to complete paving in one single day with three different paving crews paving in echelon. The project mixes incorporated RAP.

Outer Drive from McNichols to 7 Mile in Detroit. In less than two weeks, Cadillac milled the road, placed a 2-inch overlay on it, did the striping, and incorporated RAP into the project mixes.

2nd Avenue in Detroit. Cadillac milled the road and then placed a 2-inch leveling course and a 1.5- inch surface course of asphalt on it. The project mixes incorporated RAP.

Parker Road in Washtenaw County. Cadillac rubbilized the existing pavement and then resurfaced it with two lifts of hot mix asphalt (HMA).

Ellsworth Road from Carpenter Road to Platt Road in Washtenaw County. Cadillac paved the road with a rubberized hot mix asphalt (RHMA) material, the first road to incorporate this material in Metro Detroit. The use of RHMA is a sustainable paving practice that conserves natural resources, cuts emissions, reduces landfill waste and improves pavement longevity.

“These awards reflect the dedication and craftsmanship our teams bring to every project,” said Deven Rau, GM/VP of Cadillac Asphalt LLC. “Delivering high quality, sustainable roads isn’t just our goal—it’s our responsibility to the communities we serve. Incorporating reclaimed asphalt pavement and innovative construction practices allows us to build roads that perform better, last longer, and reduce our environmental impact. I’m proud of our crews for achieving these awards, and I thank NAPA for their support and recognition.”

Pat Nelson, 2025 NAPA Chairman, said, “The asphalt pavement industry is resolute in its dedication to delivering projects of exceptional quality and performance for the traveling public. Each project honored with a Quality in Construction Award is rigorously evaluated against the highest industry standards, reflecting an unwavering commitment to excellence.”
